Academic Calendar

The ESG UQAM academic year is divided into three terms : two regular semesters (Fall and Winter) and one intensive semester (Summer). Exchange students are admitted only during the two regular trimesters (Fall and Winter) and no exchanges are authorized during the summer term. This means that an exchange student can decide to study at ESG UQAM for:

• Fall and Winter terms (full-year profile)
• Fall term
• Winter term

Please note that the exchange must be completed during a single academic year.

Fall 2012

Start of term : September 4, 2012 
Deadline for course changes : September 11, 2012
Deadline for dropping courses without failing : November 7, 2012
End of term (including exams) : December 19, 2012

Winter 2013

Start of term : January 7, 2013 
Deadline for course changes : January 14, 2013 
Deadline for dropping courses without failing : March 11, 2013 
End of term (including exams) : April 28, 2013

To ensure optimal integration :

• Participation in orientation days is mandatory and, therefore, your arrival date in Montreal must precede the orientation day. Plan to arrive one week before the start of classes.
• It is strongly recommended that you attend your classes from the start of the trimester; if you miss the first two sessions of a course, usually scheduled during the first two weeks of the term, you may be refused registration in the course.
• You must ensure that your departure date from Montreal follows the date of your last exam, as you cannot receive credit for a final exam written abroad.
